Robert Viagas

Robert Viagas is an editor at Playbill, founder of Playbill.com and author, co-author or editor of more than a dozen books on the performing arts, notably the Playbill Broadway Yearbook series, which he also founded. He is a former editor of Playbills for New York City Opera and New York City Ballet, and current executive editor of PlaybillEDU. He was chosen by the original cast of A Chorus Line to tell their story in On the Line: The Creation of A Chorus Line, and by the creators of The Fantasticks to tell their story in The Amazing Story of The Fantasticks. Other books include The Backstage Guide to Broadway and I'm the Greatest Star!, which was adapted as a stage musical at Hofstra University. He serves on the nominating committee for Broadway's annual Tony Awards, and served two years on the jury of the Boston Science-Fiction Film Festival.
